  40. As always, it's considered good practice to temporarily
  41. disable any virus detection software or non-essential
  42. Extensions or Control Panels prior to installing new
  43. software on your Macintosh.

  45. 1. Download the .hqx or .bin file to your Macintosh.  If you are
  46. using Netscape Navigator to download the software and your machine is
  47. correctly configured, Netscape Navigator will automatically run the
  48. correct program to decode the .hqx or .bin file.  If not, you will
  49. need to use one of the many utilities which can decode .hqx
  50. or .bin files, we recommend something in the StuffIt
  51. family of products, such as "StuffIt Expander."

  53. 2. To install Netscape Navigator 4.04, open the
  54. folder Netscape Navigator 4.04. Open the Netscape Installer folder and
  55. run the Netscape Installer.

  59. Netscape Navigator 4.04.
